Sheet Metal Worker

I am recruiting a Sheet Metal Fabricator to work for a FTSE 250 International company specialising in components and sub-systems for the Aerospace, Defence and Energy markets.

Working within the Ducting department who provide a wide range of ducting products for fixed and rotary aircraft, you will manufacture various assemblies and components using recognised trade skills under the supervision of a Cell Leader. You will produce quality finished components to drawings and routing requirements that meet aerospace standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Production of finished ducting components to customer requirements using various metals and hand skills (stainless steel, titanium, Inconel)
  • To work to jig, drawing and route cards requirements
  • To obtain and maintain Operator verification approval stamps
  • To work as a team member. Flexible attitude towards work.
  • To be responsible for general housekeeping and tidiness on the shop.

Key skills and competencies required:

Time served/apprenticeship in Fabrication or related discipline and existing experience of working with exotic materials (stainless steel, titanium and Inconel).

We would also like you to have:

  • Experience of working within the Aerospace industry is highly desirable
  • Ability to read and understand and engineering drawings
  • Ability to follow all company procedures and specifications
