The Role

We require a SharePoint Designer who will also be involved in help setting the direction for future SharePoint development and support by working within a team of operations engineers. The position will require collaboration within a matrix environment made up of SharePoint and Splunk engineers and administrators across all teams across Group IT and other operational team leads to build a DevOps working environment.

Part of the role will involve designing and optimising SharePoint architecture for large-scale and distributed deployments for our client's estate and you will be responsible for gathering functional and non-functional requirements for future SharePoint development showing the capability to convert them into a technical implementation. The successful candidate will leverage the Machine Learning toolkit to improve an operational intelligence platform and lead the implementation of SharePoint Forwarding for new application tiers introduced into the environment.

General day to day activities involve monitoring, troubleshooting and optimising SharePoint performance, as well as identifying bad searches / dashboards, as well as partnering with the creators to improve performance using SharePoint Metadata.

Key Skills

  • Experience in working in a matrix environment
  • Experience with SharePoint 2010, 2013, 2016 or later in a distributed environment
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, ability to effectively explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical staff
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organisation skills

Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working with SharePoint is required
  • 5+ years of experience in programming technologies
