SharePoint 2016 Administrator

To succeed in this role, the SharePoint Administrator must have advanced technological skills and be invested in continuously learning about Microsoft's offerings to keep multiple SharePoint Farms up to date and functioning at optimal level. You should be able to demonstrate solid knowledge of SharePoint 2013/2016 administration and excellent troubleshooting abilities. An important part of the role is also the ability to effectively communicate with end users, developers and technology experts.

Working within a team of operations engineers the role requires the following skills:

  • To work as part of an integrated team, managing, monitoring and administering SharePoint Farms, software applications, within Development, Test, QA and Production environments.
  • SharePoint 2013/2016 Enterprise installation, configuration, patching and administration including PowerShell Scripting.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot SharePoint errors.
  • Should understand Agile (e.g. Scrum), Sprints and TFS, including CI automated build processes
  • Writing technical documentation.
  • Being fluent in English is a must (written and spoken).

Essential Skills:

  • SharePoint 2013/2016 (Enterprise)
  • Team Foundation Server 2017 with experience in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment
  • SharePoint Configuration, Administration and Monitoring
  • PowerShell Scripting
  • SharePoint Security Model, SSL Security Certificates, Kerberos, NTLM, TLS, Network Protocols and Ciphers
  • Deployment of SharePoint Solutions and Features
  • Internet Information Server (IIS)
  • Microsoft SQL Server, including Always On Availability Clusters
  • Networking, including firewalls, security, DNS, SPN's and encryption
  • Provides technical support for SharePoint users and Developers
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • SharePoint Min-Role Architecture and how to apply patches
  • Proven record of working in large scale SharePoint Farm deployments

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of Agile working practices
  • Knowledge of Desired State Configuration
  • Development background
  • Information Rights Management, including ADRMS
  • Microsoft Office Online Server
  • SPDocKit
  • AutoSPInstaller
  • Visual Studio
  • Fiddler, Wireshark

  • Involvement in Penetration Testing, Performance Testing, Stress Testing

Work Environment:

  • Standard 37-hour workweek applies.
  • Some overtime or non-traditional hours may be required in order to quickly address issues and for maintenance work on Live Production environments.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field is required.
  • Minimum 5- years' experience working with SharePoint is required
  • Microsoft MCSE Certification desirable
