Service Transition Design Lead

Pay = £360 - £460

Clearance: NPPV3 (SC Enhanced) service security clearance and will agree to go through DV level security vetting. (Will start with this in progress)

Location: London

The role will be working on a large complex ICT Infrastructure programme within the customer network. The role/service will be the interface between the Programme and the BAU Support Functions. They will design, document and implement the support models across CTP. Moreover, they will be tasked with protecting the end users and BAU capacity by assuring the deliverables that stem from the two Programmes that make up CTOC.

Main Resposinlitities

  • Ensure that service requirements are captured, agreed and instilled in the Service Design.
  • Create the relevant templates to capture and document the Service Design.
  • Design the end-to-end Service and Support Model, ensuring extra due diligence is exercised when designing the inputs into Level 1 and the handoffs to all resolver groups.
  • Work closely with Service Providers and Suppliers and other organisations to capture, design, agree and document support models that cross multiple providers.
  • Design organisational structures and resourcing profiles for Service Management Functions and Support Organisations, as well as producing Business Cases for additional resource requirements within CTP.
  • Document the CTP support model for the CTP IT Opportunities in Service Design Package Templates.
  • Ensure that the Service Design aligns with the CTP ICT Strategy.

What do we want from you?

  • Carry a minimum of at least 10+ experience in IT Service Management.
  • Have 8+ years experience in Service Design and Transition.
  • Have worked on large projects of a secure nature.
  • Strong communications skills - both written and verbal,
    • With an ability to explain complex technical requirements to a range of stakeholders.
    • Review the work of others and report on progress internally and to wider stakeholders externally.

The following ITIL qualifications are required:

    • Service Strategy
    • Service Design
    • Service Transition
    • Service Operation
    • Managing Across The Lifecycle (MALC) - ITIL Expert


  • Have an understanding of government organisations

Hold the following project management qualifications or similar:

    • PRINCE2 Practitioner,
    • Agile
