Service Desk Engineer- 1.5 Months (chance of extension)- Abingdon.

VALID Enhanced DBS will be needed for this role

The client is looking for someone with Service Desk or IT experience within a customer facing environment.

Essential skills:

  • Previous experience of working in a dynamic customer facing environment, ideally in a similar telephone support role. Good problem solving and communication skills are essential as is tenacity/self-motivation and the ability to work effectively as part of a wider team under pressure. Able to empathize with customers and contribute to on going improvements.
  • Experience of advanced LAN / WAN connectivity troubleshooting. CCNA or equivalent advantageous though not essential.
  • Candidates should be able to demonstrate a practical understanding of such technologies and be able to discuss these in "layman's" terms. Practical approach to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Provision pf a quality SLA driven support to high value customers (SWGFL / SEGFL) Confidently deliver a high level of first time fix (60%+)
  • Work as part of a team to ensure all KPIs are met and where these are not understand why and look to appropriately eliminate the causes for such failures.
