The Service Design and Transition Manager, within IT Service Operations, is responsible for protecting the IT service we deliver to our customers and stakeholders, through effective design and transition of IT projects and robust acceptance into Service.

The role will closely interface into the Business Service Management, Delivery Management, Delivery Relationship Management and Technical Service Management disciplines, ensuring that service designs are clearly understood and that appropriate risks and service waivers are signed off as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a strong commercial focus at all times, ensuring maximum return on Technology and Change investments.
  • Addressing an increasing demand for Technology and Change services with limited resources.
  • Maintaining up-to-date technical and market knowledge in a constantly changing Technology and change industry.
  • Setting and communicating strategic direction for the area to ensure that Technology and Change and IT Service Operations strategy is technically sound, with maximum investment in IT and fully aligned with business strategy.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with strategic partners and suppliers at a senior level to ensure maximum contribution from partner organisations.
  • Ensuring Technology and change services and systems are designed, developed and maintained to operate at maximum efficiency and with maximum return on investment.
  • To standardise the approach to Service Design, driving organisational and process efficiency.
  • To ensure that infrastructure designs are aligned to business strategy, our Technology architecture and that appropriate peer reviews and approvals are obtained.
