  • Regularly tracking performance against quality assurance metrics
  • Regularly attending scrum ceremonies, such as Sprint Planning, and actively participating to ensure your progress is transparent
  • Scoping all testing work going through the team through Agile estimating and planning.
  • Preparing appropriately detailed test plans for projects and BAU deliveries and provision of factual, up to date test progress reports.
  • Running UAT workshops and demos with senior stakeholders
  • Creating and maintaining both functional and non-functional test cases.
  • Executing test cases and clearly documenting your findings
  • Planning and managing with appropriate tooling (e.g. Jira, test automation).

What do I need?

  • An in depth understanding of the full Software Delivery Lifecycle (ideally in both waterfall and agile models).
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to clearly provide technical explanations in Layman's terms
  • Demonstrable experience in the timely delivery of test phases for medium-large scale IT programmes/projects.
  • Experience of delivering with vendor teams is a must, ideally with an offshore component.
  • Prior management, supervisory and/or team leadership experience is beneficial.
  • In depth knowledge of one or more test specialisms (e.g. Automation, Load/Performance, etc.) and experience of rolling these out in a new team, is very beneficial
  • In depth knowledge of testing concepts, phases and types of testing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Personal Characteristics:

  • It's important this individual is a team player who is not afraid to lead when it comes to testing best practice and getting what they need to run high quality tests.
  • This individual must be an honest leader who is not afraid to fail or admit their mistakes or ask for help
  • Requires a diligent, proactive and confident individual who is committed to continual assessment and improvement.
  • Individual must possess a strong technical aptitude and the ability to apply their knowledge to new technologies which they may not be familiar with.
  • The individual must be comfortable with objectively challenging their peers and superiors to ensure adherence to agreed quality standards (this equally applies to vendors).
  • Whilst robustness and integrity are important, the individual must also be pragmatic and able to adapt to the needs of the business.
  • A proactive attitude, with a desire to help drive improvements and maximise value delivered to the business.
  • A proven ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, organising your own work and tasks
