Senior Supply Chain Manager

We are looking to recruit a Senior Supply Chain Manager to join a dynamic team managing a comprehensive supply chain service for the UKs leading engineering support services provider based in London (Park Royal).

The organisation spends in excess of £900m per annum on goods and services and the Senior Supply Chain Manager will manage a portfolio of suppliers taking responsibility for procurement and supply Chain strategy specifically working on the on road fleet management contracts including both the London Fire Brigade (LFB) and Metropolitan Police Service (MPS).

The Supply Chain Manager will support the Head of Procurement & Supply Chain to design, develop and implement strategies that meet the needs of the business; the Supply Chain Manager will work as part of an integrated project team ensuring that the individual contract operational needs are understood and delivered on time and to budget. The role will cover platform acquisition and MRO spares management, ensuring that necessary contract/framework agreements are in place with suppliers.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Create necessary process and Procurement Plans to support contract requirements
  • Establish Contract / Framework agreements with suppliers
  • The delivery of sufficient levels of quality goods and services to sustain operational output within project budget.
  • Develop strategic Relationship plans for key suppliers that capture the business requirements and work with the suppliers strengths
  • The maintenance of supply performance; undertaking regular supplier reviews.
  • Develop a dashboard to report supplier performance to Contract, BU and Sector level
  • Maintain accurate Open Order commitments; all orders must be scheduled with accurate delivery dates
  • Be able to demonstration that purchasing decisions have taken account of stock levels, buy/repair analysis and obsolescence liabilities.
  • An accurate forecast of supply chain costs in time for each budget round.
  • Assist in the development of Procurement strategies that maximise value for the business, based on understanding the business needs and the supply market potential;
  • Conduct sourcing activities to meet the requirements of the Fleet Management Contracts
  • Implement sourcing and supplier management initiatives to deliver against the Value Plan; this will involve running and delivering sourcing projects from conception through to completion.
  • Identify new opportunities throughout the year and incorporate these into the Value Plan.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business,
  • Support operational activities, including bidding activities and mobilisation of new contracts

Candidate Profile

  • Ideally Degree educated in a Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management or Engineering degree.
  • MCIPS or equivalent professional qualification desirable
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Proven track record of identifying and delivering year-on-year Procurement savings against targets, across a portfolio of Procurement
  • Fleet management category experience is advantageous
  • Experience of managing strategic sourcing projects from conception through to completion;
