Senior Supply Chain Manager - Transformation Program

  • Flexible location, with national travel
  • Salary up to £70,000 plus car allowance



About the role

This FTSE250 Defence & Aerospace organisation are seeking multiple Supply Chain Managers on a permanent basis, to lead a major transformation of the Procurement function across their Land division.

The Land Sector spends in excess of £700m per annum on a diverse range of Goods and Services, supporting clients across Defence, Training, Civil Infrastructure, Fleet Management and Emergency Services.

The Transformation program will cover 3 distinct areas being: Requisition to Pay (R2P), Source to Contract and Warehousing/logistics. Senior Supply Chain Managers will work across all 3 of these areas at pace, with the transformation being led directly by the Procurement Director.

This program will see you move across multiple business units over time, engaging with a variety of stakeholders across the business and you will provide the functional expertise required to ensure the transformation is organised, compliant and focused in a way that extracts maximum value. Unlocking value in both effectiveness of spend as well as efficiencies in the way it is carried out.

The organisation has office locations in all major regions across the UK, as such your base location can be flexible, and home working will be on offer.

Your key duties will include:

  • Accountable to program management for all P&SC requirements.
  • Have Requisition to pay (R2P) established for each contract/Line of Business (LoB) in line with program strategies.
  • Create an Approved Vendor List (AVL), that demonstrable deliveries value to the P&L.
  • Have guided buying in place for 90% of business spend by the end of the transformation.
  • Have Due Diligence carried out on the AVL that reduces risks to a known level.
  • Have all warehouse and logistics operations running in line with the program strategy.
  • Be able to measure both the input and output requirements of the program in a timely and consistent manner.
  • Implementation / mobilisation of agreed solutions across the BU in harmony with operational teams to ensure no adverse impact if felt by the BU. Drive adoption of preferred solution to achieve best value solutions.
  • Deliver value in line with the functional strategy
  • Produce monthly credible reports in line with the program and functional strategy.



What do I need to do the role?

We would like you to have experience in all, or some, of the following areas:

  • Proven experience in a Procurement or Supply Chain Management role
  • Experience of delivering transformation or change to the procurement function
  • Highly commercial, with a proven ability to use procurement to unlock value
  • CIPS preferred but not essential.
