Senior Statistician

A Senior Statistician is required to join a leading biotechnology manufacturing company. This position offers an impressive and unique opportunity for interested candidates. This role will be responsible for providing statistical support and promote the use of statistical thinking across the site. To establish, organise and maintain effective statistics and data evaluation services pertaining to process monitoring and modelling of biological drugs. To train relevant employees how to effectively employ statistics within their job functions. · Manages protocol/report review and approval
· Fulfils site-wide statistical analysis requests
· Provides sampling plan justifications
· Support the implementation, expansion, and continuous improvement of the company's Application of the In-Process Control (IPC) program
· Apply statistical and quality engineering tools for commercial process data
· Use statistical process control, process capability and other appropriate tools to monitor process performance, identify trends, and support investigations
· Work with cross-functional departments to co-ordinate process data collation
· Work with cross-functional departments to ensure process data is being used to maximise process understanding and facilitate continuous improvement opportunities (i.e. real time process monitoring)
· Issue knowledge base reports summarising conclusion of data reviews and analysis


· Requires a MSc in statistics, mathematical sciences or related field
· Requires 5+ years' experience in a similar role
· Experience in a biopharmaceutical setting is desirable but not compulsory


· Ability to understand and implement project plans and schedules
· Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database management software
· Familiarity with the computer systems (JMP, Minitab, R) and support tools needed to conduct statistical analyses
· Capable of operating with a high degree of autonomy to identify novel applications of statistical methods, define improvements to current programs, and deliver results
· Ability to teach and influence others with experience organising and conducting statistical training
· Familiarity with common methods such as Multivariate Regression, Equivalency Testing, Control Charts and Sampling Plans, DOE, Data Mining
· A clear understanding of statistical terms and concepts
· Excellent time management, organisational, written and verbal communication skills
· Knowledge and proficient in the use of Microsoft products - Excel, Word and PowerPoint
