Fancy working with the Europe's leading Entertainment Company? Our client is looking for a Senior Scrum Master to join their thriving team in London.

The Video Content Delivery Platform is a central service of their business' media asset management system with responsibility for marshalling content and orchestrating workflow throughout the production process, from material ingest through to delivery to a range of distribution channels.

The successful candidate will lead teams of highly skilled Software and Test Engineers, building and supporting these systems to collectively ensure that the right content arrives at the right destination at the right time.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the completion by one or more product development team's deliverables according to commitments made in sprint planning, proactively manage any blockers and escalate issues as needed.
  • Own people management, including recruitment, for the technical team consisting of Software and Test Engineers, and Analysts.
  • Own the applications built and managed by team to ensure they are fit for future, and fully supported.
  • Management of impediments - Proactively identifying, analysing and resolving issues with the potential to impact successful delivery of the project. Devising and driving contingency plans, where required, to minimise risks and avoid crises.
  • Manage team budgets by working closely with the programme stakeholders.
  • Coach, mentor and motivate team members to adopt and live agile principles of development and deliver quality software on time and to design.
  • Grow and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Facilitate discussions to create consensus, agreement and binding decisions.
  • Assure the timely transition of development work for multiple projects into production by fully engaging with stakeholders as part of planned delivery.
  • Champion agile practices and continuous improvement initiatives through regular reflection and adaptation.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies, including but not limited to; daily stand ups, Iteration/Sprint Planning, Retrospective and Demos.
  • Socialising, promoting and facilitating Agile development principles.
  • Ensure the team carried out support (both in and out of hours) for applications they own and act as an escalation contact for any issues.
  • Collaborate with Product Leads and cross-programme teams to maintain a strategic product roadmap that identifies deliverables and milestones.

Your skills:

  • Demonstrable experience of previous role as a technical Scrum Master, and as a People Manager.
  • Strong Stakeholder management experience. This includes providing regular status updates on current development activities at appropriate levels of detail for stakeholders, technical teams and the wider business.
  • Clear understanding of the value of commitments to Delivery made by a development team.
  • Demonstrable experience of different Leadership and Management styles.
  • Technical experience and knowledge of platform development.
  • Experience of risk management strategies to mitigate and maintain alignment to business/programme strategies.
  • Experience of running a number of projects / features simultaneously internally within your teams.
  • In depth understanding of Agile methodologies, values and practices.
  • Understand other processes and methodologies and can speak intelligently about them and leverage other techniques to provide value to a team/enterprise.
  • Solid understanding of software development processes and procedures, including and not limited to iterative development, incremental delivery and the value of metrics.
  • Understand backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition.
  • Champions cross department initiatives.
