The main purpose of this role is to provide professional analyst support to the Finance Transformation project in preparing for and implementing SAP Ariba and Purchase to Pay (P2P) system requirements. The role holder will be working closely with the team's subject matter experts and business stakeholders to identify and map process and system solutions and best practice and prepare for system implementation.

Key Responsibilities of a Senior Procurement Systems Analyst:

  1. Review, interpret and analyse Procurement transnational data for each business area to aid identification of 'to-be' and best practice processes and principles.
  2. With reference to previous project discovery work, analyse and record non-standard and/or business specific processes and ensure these are embedding within the overarching 'to-be' Purchase to Pay process maps.
  3. Ensure that updated process maps are played back and circulated to key stakeholders for validation purposes within appropriate timescales.
  4. Develop best practice guidance and identify solutions to non-standard procurement practices and other policy compliance processes, with emphasis on roles and responsibilities of the various types of system users and teams.
  5. To liaise and communicate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels across the organisation, presenting a professional image of the Open University, to understand specific purchase to pay issues and unit specific processes
  6. Work with others to ensure that associated work is completed within defined timescales and to quality.

What do we want from you?

  • Previous experience of P2P system implementation, ideally with SAP Ariba.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience of mapping processes and best practice solutions.
  • Demonstrable experience of working collaboratively with stakeholders and as part of a team; excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating discretion, confidentiality.
  • Excellent IT skills; Microsoft Office software proficiency including Visio (or other process mapping software).
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage own workload.
  • Deep understanding of procurement good practice and processes.
  • High level of accuracy with good attention to detail.
