Senior Microbiologist - Cheshire - Competitive Salary

A leading Pharmaceutical Manufacturer based in Cheshire are seeking an experienced Senior Microbiologist for a 2 year Fixed Term Contract.

This role provides testing, reporting and investigation laboratory activities to enable compliant, on time delivery of product to market. This is a key position within a QC team ensuring that the exacting standards of GMP, Site procedures, HSE and LEAN are delivered at all times.

Role Responsibilities:

  • The Senior Quality Microbiologist is charged with performing their work in a safe and effective manner in compliance with cGMP, Biosafety and Regulatory requirements
  • Coach and Mentor other members of the Microbiology team within the organisation
  • Perform Microbiological testing following approved methodology, to assure that the potency, purity, safety and stability of our products, components and facilities/utilities are in compliance with approved specifications.
  • Generation of Qualification and Validation documentation associated with laboratory and cross function activities.
  • Building relationships with various customer groups, stakeholders and cross functional teams

Required Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

  • A science degree / HND/ NVQ 4 or equivalent with at least 1-3 years working experience in a GMP environment
  • Experience in Clean room classification and environment monitoring
  • Previous experience working with non-sterile products/environment (e.g inhalation and nasal spray products)
  • Proven interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate theoretical procedures and concepts across the department. Ability to Train the Trainer and instructional techniques in addition to supporting new training introductions.
  • High knowledge, understanding and interpretation of pharmacopoeial and regulatory guidance.
