Location: Maidenhead

Salary: c. £80,000 + 20% bonus, company car or car allowance, full benefits package (private medical and dental cover, 25 days annual leave, pension scheme, childcare vouchers, etc.)

Senior Medical Affairs Advisor - this exciting new opportunity has become available with a global leading pharmaceutical company, with excellent reputation in the industry, and a strong product pipeline.

Reporting to the Head of Medical, UK and Ireland, you will build scientific relationships with individual medical and scientific leaders, identify Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and other stakeholders and help to build and develop expert networks. You will also play a critical role in contributing to medical, scientific, product and technical support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for producing and executing the UK Medical Affairs Plan alongside the franchise plans.
  • Maintain an oversight of and contribute to the examination and certification of promotional and non-promotional materials and activities
  • Ensure the ethics, transparency, quality and compliance of all medical activities.
  • Identify meaningful gaps in scientific and clinical knowledge relevant to the optimal use of company products or services in the UK, and seek data to bridge those gaps; using all types of robust data and evidence available.
  • Contribute to commercial developments by supplying medical advice and working cross-functionally, especially with Franchise teams, Commercial Operations, Healthcare Services, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, and Medical Information.
  • Bring clinical and scientific expertise to National and Regional market access activities, including direct medical and scientific input to reimbursement dossiers and strategy and advice on the delivery of clinical tender submissions.
  • Develop clinical research opportunities, identify and evaluate Investigator Initiated Study proposals and audits
  • Work on local clinical studies and provide scientific support where appropriate

REQUIRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • UK registered medical practitioner or qualified to register in the UK
  • Higher medical qualification preferable
  • Industry experience will be an advantage, but is not a must
  • Experience in Immunology/Vaccines desirable
  • Knowledge of Regulatory guidelines, ABPI Code of Practice and standard operating procedures desirable
  • Knowledge of the principles of clinical trial design, management, analysis and reporting, including GCP desirable
  • Knowledge of the structure and management of the NHS desirable
