Senior Major Incident and Problem Manager - Portsmouth

Senior Major Incident and Problem Manager required for a leading support services organisation in Portsmouth. You would be a senior member of the IS division, responsible for the effective implementation and ongoing management of all areas of the Major Incident Management and Problem Management team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day to day execution of the Problem and Major Incident Management process and policy
  • Managing the lifecycle of all Major Incidents and Problems, with the aim of resolving incidents and preventing problems - escalating when required
  • Manage a team of two Incident Managers, including leave requests, absence and appraisals
  • Use the ITSM toolset and other reporting sources to proactively identify problems and trends to help understand the root cause of problems
  • Provide regular reporting to appropriate stakeholders on reactive and proactive activity within the team
  • Document, improve and communicate the problem management and incident management processes
  • Regular problem & trend analysis reports, and post incident & root cause reports

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:

  • Strong experience as an Incident Manager
  • Team leadership experience
  • ITIL foundation essential
  • Experience using IT Service Management systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexible approach to working hours - you will be required to perform the role of Major Incident Manager on call 24/7, 1 week in 4

Security Criteria to be achieved:

  • You must either hold MOD Security Clearance or be SC clearable
