Senior Infrastructure Specialist - VMWare, VDI, Citrix - £50,000 - £55,000 + Benefits

VMware ESXi, VMware Horizon/View or Citrix Xenapp Build Deployment Support Configuration

Working for an exciting European company who are expanding its operations in the UK we are seeking a candidate located in the West Midlands that will be based from home with the ability to travel to customer sites in and around the local area. As a Senior Infrastructure specialist you will be offering support on a suite or products that assists in exceling the productivity within its customers hosted VDI environments as well as providing advise and consultancy you will also be a hands on technical specialist with solid and proven experience in either VMWare Veiw/Horixon or Citrix XenApp for VDI purposes.

This is an extremely exciting opportunity to work with a company who will be investing heavily in the growth of the business and the development of its employees. Technically you will be competent in:

Technical Knowledge

  • VMWare Virtual Desktop Infrastructure or Citrix Vitual desktop Infrastructure
  • VMware or Citrix Desktop deployment (VMware View/Horizon 4.1, 5.3 & 6.0 and 7.0 Thin Apps)Horizon View implementation & support of VMware Horizon 6.2.1 infrastructure, Citrix XenApp
  • VMware Esxi 4.1, 5.0, 5.1, 5.5, 6 & 6.5 Server with VCenter Appliance, VSphere Nice to have:
  • VCP certified VDI or Dell/Netapp, IBM SAN storage support experience Ideally based from Birmingham with some limited travel to client sites and home working as possible

Personal Skills

  • Excellent Communication Skills coupled with an appetite for developing their knowledge.
  • A helpful manner and approach coupled with the ability to deliver whilst also having the ability to learn things quickly and have a sharp eye for detail.
  • Experience and understanding of IT incident management
  • Experience and understanding of IT change management.
  • Highly motivated and flexible
  • Good time management, organizational skills with the ability to multitask
  • Ability to work independently and to take the lead where required but also to work as part of a team.
  • The successful candidate will have a strong focus on customer service and take pride in receiving positive client feedback
