The work location is in Paddington, London / Remote working.

The duration of the contract is 6 months.

The role is working for a large, multinational retail client.

Key responsibilities

  • Finance lead for Personalisation - ensuring we maximise the benefits opportunity and that BUs are supportive and recognising benefits in all plans.
  • Design a rhythm and routine for forecasting personalised promotional events, markdown and incremental sales for inclusion in finance plans with mechanisms in place to measure and report against
  • Responsible for ownership of D&D business cases and subsequent measurement and reporting (Sparks & Personalisation, 10x Stores)
  • Finance Lead for the Data Science Road Map, sizing opportunities, building and supporting delivery of business cases alongside BU Finance colleague.
  • Own the long-range strategic planning process for D&D ensuring accurate recognition of benefits across the BUs.
  • Support the implementation of an agile approach to investment appraisal to be embedded in our quarterly buy process.
  • Proactive in looking for opportunities to improve processes and reporting to remove reliance on manual and excel based reporting.
  • Robust reporting of key performance metrics ensuring these are accurate and fully reconciled to financial data adding insight to financial information to drive decision making
  • Responsible for upholding a control discipline and culture across the function

Key experience and skills

  • Commercially focussed qualified accountant with experience in promotional trading
  • Retail trading experience ideal
  • Ability to build strong relationships is key
  • Collaborative approach, with natural style that builds strong network with finance colleagues
  • Ability to influence non-finance colleagues at senior levels
  • Commercial awareness and excellent analytical skills
  • Strong team player but also happy to work independently on own initiative
  • Willingness to challenge the status quo and an ability to manage change
