Senior electrical, electronic or control engineers required by an industry leading engineering organisation to support and work on a variety of exciting projects differing in status and longevity. The part of the organisation this post sits in is responsible for complex, high integrity, engineering design and support projects across a range of world-class defence platforms.

You will be working in a dynamic and supportive team and will have the opportunity to further develop your skills in the design, development and integration of electrical and electronic hardware, software and systems.

Location: Bristol

Salary: up to £43,000 per year

Contract Type: Permanent

Main Responsibilities:

  • Be involved in a significant proportion of the overall product lifecycle, from requirements capture, through to on-platform commissioning and in-service support.
  • Support the planning, design and delivery of complex mechanical handling and weapon launch systems equipment.
  • Undertake concept or detailed design dependent upon the maturity of the projects underway.
  • Electrical, Electronic or Software design at system and sub-system level
  • Integration of hydraulic/pneumatic systems in the overall design
  • Design and task estimation
  • Lead and manage a small team of engineers

Required experience and qualifications:

  • HNC I Degree qualified in Electrical I Electronic / Controls engineering, Computing or similar related qualifications and experience.
  • Ability to work as a self-starting individual and as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A positive attitude with a desire to learn new skills and to work safely.
  • Successful candidates must be eligible to hold UK Security Clearance.

Desirable:

  • Experience of 'hands on' commissioning and fault isolation on electrical / electronic / control systems.
  • Experience of requirements management.
  • Experience with development using Beckhoff PLC systems and IEC61131 programming.
