Senior EC&I Engineer

A market leading FTSE 100 organisation is currently recruiting for Senior EC&I Engineers to take on permanent positions ASAP. The company is highly regarded for its employee recognition and vital position in today's market place. You will be a driven individual who is looking to work in a fast paced environment with supportive team in a diverse and challenging environment.

Based in either Irlam or Daresbury, the role will involve working as part of a long term service agreement contract with a nuclear facility to provide CE&I engineering conceptual and detailed design, drawings, modelling, calculations, and technical solutions in the delivery of customer funded tasks and projects.

The main responsibilities of the role are as follows:

  • You will be required to manage teams of engineers / design engineers to deliver fit for purpose engineering solutions to designated timescales and budgets, ensuring minimum rework following checking whilst ensuring we exceed customer expectations.
  • Allocates tasks, checks achievement against expectations & gives constructive feedback
  • Ensures cost-effective use of resources to achieve commercial objectives
  • Analyses, monitors and controls expenditure to ensure team achieve financial targets
  • Assesses and reacts customer needs and resolves their concerns
  • Schedules project/task & controls resources to meet budget and time
  • Establishes effective communications links with internal & external customers
  • Improve the competence of others by coaching and identifying/ implementing training
  • Suggest improvements to existing systems & procedures
  • Assesses Environment, Health & Safety risks to identify and remove the causes of potential hazards
  • Identify and work to appropriate standards in unusual applications

The successful candidate will display the following skills, experience and qualifications:

  • HND/HNC as a minimum or relevant experience.
  • Member of one or more relevant professional institutions preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience covering a range of engineering/technical topics.
  • Sound theoretical & practical knowledge; able to apply current technologies to new applications
  • Good appreciation of manufacturing, assembly and workshop methods.
  • Nuclear industry or other safety or regulated industry experience (Desirable)
  • Eligible for SC Clearance (essential)
