£53,000 per Annum

Overall Job Purpose

To lead and focus on social and partnership content to more effectively engage with customers. Help to develop and maintain a highly effective website and social media channels ensuring all content is accurate, engaging and drives usage of the channels. Research the potential of creating online communities and work closely with partnerships to develop better customer relationships through targeted content.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Working with the Partnerships team to develop and write engaging content for relevant third parties.
  • Planning social content and maintaining the content calendar ensuring social media content is regular, relevant and engaging.
  • Engaging with our social media followers to build relationships with the community and encourage further engagement.
  • Editing and writing direct communications for customers.
  • Reporting on and monitoring the success of social media engagement in terms of the overall engagement strategy.
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders to give customer insights gained from social media engagement.
  • Carry out core content optimisation work when requested, co-ordinating, prioritising and planning to ensure consistent delivery against the content development roadmap using content design approaches, A/B testing, user testing and other tools and sources of insight.
  • Ensure the right processes are in place to support successful collaboration and delivery against goals
  • Oversee and supervise the work of more junior team members as needed
  • Contributing to the Service's web strategy, content strategy and plans and SEO strategy and operational plans.
  • Implementing the agreed content strategy, web strategy and SEO strategy and plans and evaluating and acting upon results.
  • Working with subject matter experts to deliver compelling and actionable content across all channels as required (desktop, mobile, video, social media).
  • Voicing/articulating developments and requirements within the organisation, as well as influencing the roadmap by collating user feedback, working with the insight, proposition and product teams as appropriate.
  • Working with the product team to ensure all core content works as part of the overall user journey, ensuring consistency of tone, messages, content and brand values.
  • Where required, managing relevant outsourced elements effectively and in line with VFM requirements.
  • Ensuring that style guides and templates are adhered to.
  • Working with other digital team members to ensure that the web site design and operation reflects the brand and ensuring that all tools, design activity and templates meet usability testing and relevant standards.
  • Understanding and optimising the web architecture, supporting technologies and content structure, ensuring effective and engaging customer journeys.
  • Carrying out testing for new products or changes as required.
  • Monitoring and reporting on audience behaviour and interest trends; ability to identify and escalate common 'hot-button' issues, complaints or praise from our audience.
  • Crafting compelling copy in an authentic voice that resonates with our target audience, driving actions, engagement, link-sharing and click-through.
  • Ensuring that usage rights are followed across platforms and markets and any technical issues are addressed.
  • Working effectively in functional and project teams.

Essential Criteria

  • Extensive expertise in developing and executing social media strategies across all platforms.
  • Experience of the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) practices, strategies and technologies used to attract and retain customer engagement.
  • Significant expertise in working in content rich web environments with a deep appreciation of web based customer journey mapping.
  • Deep appreciation of different community behaviours and points of interests across those platforms and ability to monitor and identify hot button issues, and suggest and implement tactical solutions.
  • A deep understanding of content design principles.
  • Have solid experience of web technologies, current trends and web standards.
  • Experience of Search engine optimisation (SEO), Google analytics and social media monitoring tools.
  • Proven expertise of successful written communications with an excellent journalistic style of writing, strong editorial judgment and the ability to convey a complex message in a concise way.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy at all times and proven ability to search optimise own and others' copy.
  • Good knowledge of financial topics as they affect consumers and an alertness to broader issues in the media that might have financial implications for consumers.
  • Significant expertise in commissioning and managing 3rd party suppliers and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, with internal and external contributors.
  • Proven knowledge of digital and new media publishing.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, to juggle competing workloads and deadlines.
