SENIOR DEVOPS ENGINEER: (LINUX, PUPPET/ANSIBLE, KUBERNETES, SCRIPTING)

The work location is in OSTERLEY and is a 6 month contract paying 500-540 Per Day.

Must Have Essential Key skills & Background:

  • Proven track record in implementing (Automated) large scale environment strategies utilising cutting edge tools, methodologies and processes.
  • At least 3 years' experience in Environment Management role or similar. (build manager, integration manager, Dev Ops manager, configuration manager)
  • Strong experience in DevOps tools and practices such as Puppet, Ansible, Kubernetes.
  • In depth knowledge of release management, quality gates, processes, tools and techniques
  • Proven experience in dealing with configuration management, deployment, scripts etc.
  • Strong and broad Technical knowledge of technical stack - (development, Dev Ops, Persistence, network)
  • Strong Stakeholder management experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define, own and deliver the non-production environments strategy ensuring we evolve towards having dynamic, self-service environments that support fast pace continuous delivery.
  • Ownership of the automated process for tracking releases, upgrades and changes to the development and test environments
  • Manage and own the environment plan to meet the demands of the delivery projects
  • Working with the test team and Build teams to ensure there is efficient use of available environments (reuse or decommission of environment when testing is complete)
  • Ensure common approach to monitoring and associated alerting within environments.
  • Implement automated mechanism for conveying environments setup of underlying components to appropriate standards including integration points
  • Provide expertise to automate escalation of issues quickly and efficiently to resolution.
  • Implement automated environment issues and risk register for visibility to senior management/stakeholders.
  • Timely and efficient communication with stakeholders, project management team on progress, issues and risks
  • Lead Environment Analysts supporting the effort to achieve the above.
