SENIOR COST CONSULTANT

BRISTOL

FULL-TIME, 37 HOURS

PERMANENT

C.£40,000 - £50,000 + Plus Full benefits package including - Contributory pension scheme, share incentive plan, private medical insurance, private dental insurance, childcare vouchers, holiday vouchers, other leisure discounts etc

A world leading security and technology service provider who have invested billions of pounds in their services working with the most high profile clients on the most cutting edge projects. The business is going through a period of sustained growth and are therefore seeking a self-motivated senior consultant to join their team.

The Job

The role of Senior Cost Consultant sits within the Cost and Risk Capability Team, providing experts in cost, risk and programme and portfolio management. Along with the standard responsibilities of the role there are significant opportunities for career progression via training, role experience and additional objectives. You are expected to be educated to degree level with a relevant background in cost management; activity in a cost society or related body is desirable.

Specific responsibilities:
* Cost Forecasting
* Cost modelling with FACET
* Data Analysis with Excel
* Risk Analysis with @Risk
* Business Development and winning work
* Delivery of bids
* WLC process
* CDAL development
* Mentor less experienced members of staff

Knowledge, skills and personal qualities desired:
* Appreciation of defence procurement processes and MoD operating doctrine
* Good systems engineering appreciation
* Understanding of Risk identification and application of risk analysis
* Interpersonal / presentation skills with the ability to persuade and influence with people outside own immediate area of specialism
* Appreciation of finance and accounting
* Understanding of COEIA and OA combined with application of IA
* Good numerical skills including historical trend analysis and data normalisation
* Commercial appreciation
* Understanding the limitations of different estimating techniques
* Self-motivated with the ability to learn new industries and defence domains
* Project Management capability
