Here at Babcock International Group we are looking to recruit a Senior Commercial Manager for a new permanent opportunity working within our regional headquarters in London.

In our Emergency Services & Training (ES&T) division we manage several significant contracts for emergency services customers such as the Metropolitan Police & the London Fire Brigade, these provide our expertise in fleet management and technical training.


About the role

Purpose of role: To lead the commercial aspects of major strategic bids and contractual negotiations across ES&T.

Major Tasks and Activities

  • Develop market leading innovative commercial mechanisms adding competitive advantage to bids to secure long-term profitable contracts.
  • Contribute to the successful growth of the BU through strong commercial leadership of strategic bids and other contractual negotiations.
  • Assess risks associated with contracting under differing frameworks and determine the most effective solutions
  • Review and interpret complex contracts and supporting the business on matters regarding contractual disputes and claims.
  • Responsible for drafting and negotiating variations to and change controls under contracts.
  • Identifying new commercial opportunities and driving growth across the business.


What do I need to do the role?

  • Experience in a Senior Commercial role
  • Excellent contract knowledge.
  • Tendering experience working within the commercial dialogue framework
  • Comprehensive understanding of the training or appropriate outsourcing markets
  • Able to lead the senior commercial relationship with key customers focusing on stakeholder management, risk mitigation, opportunity identification and commercial negotiations.
  • Commercially astute
  • Strong financial analytical experience
  • People management skill
  • Ability to draft Commercial Terms and Conditions.

Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level (Business/Contract Law) or equivalent relevant industry experience.
