Senior Buyer- Competitive Salary -Rosyth

We have an opportunity for a Senior Buyer to join our team working for a leading Engineering Support Services Business based in Rosyth.

Reporting to the Operational and Site Procurement Manager, you will have responsibility for procuring materials and services from new and existing suppliers, sourcing new suppliers, setting up preferred supplier agreements and contracts such that materials, services and products are sourced in a timely, cost effective and professional manner to meet schedules, and customer demands.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for the more complex tenders and purchasing situations, or is responsible for purchasing of high value goods or goods of significant importance to the business.
  • Will be examining purchasing practice and working with an allocated group of suppliers to identify and generate cost savings for the business.
  • Manage and collaborate with appropriate stakeholders, using relationship building and influencing skills to gain and maintain crucial buy in and/or support for procurement/strategic sourcing
  • Ensure the purchasing system is fully maintained and up to date and that changes to static data and suppliers is fully implemented
  • 8. Lead a team of direct reports with responsibility for their performance; coaching and mentoring as appropriate to develop staff

Qualification/ Skills & Attributes:

  • Knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes and procedures and operating techniques
  • Experience working with ERP systems for example, IFS, SAP, Oracle.
  • Evidence of leadership and managing the performance of a team of direct reports and be keen to shape the future Procurement strategy
  • MCIPS or studying towards MCIPS or equivalent professional qualifications (desirable)
  • Achieved (or working towards) Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
