Security Operations (SOC) Manager - to £75k + package

Job Description:

The SOC Manager is accountable for the strategy, remit and day-to-day management of the Security Operations Centre.

Key responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for the creation, development and operation of the Global Security Operations Centre, including security event response management, including identification, triage and response, and SOC metrics design
  • You will report to the Global Head of Security Operations, responsibilities include security event response management
  • You will develop partnerships with key capability suppliers, with current vendors and with potential future suppliers and be responsible for technology selection process to include requirements consolidation into RFI/RFP/RFQ, technology recommendation, Proof of Concept testing/Prototyping and Technology Selection.
  • This role will act as a key contributor to the strategy and direction of Global Information & Cyber Security function.

Key skills & Requirements:

  • Generally more than 5 years SOC related experience with the past two years managing a SOC, or SOC teams
  • Knowledge and understand of a wide variety of security technologies and processes, including but not limited to
    • Network Infrastructure,
    • Data Protection,
    • Endpoint Security,
    • Application Security,
    • SIEM,
    • Incident Response
    • Forensics
  • Knowledge of current exploit techniques, vulnerability disclosures, data breach incidents, and security analysis techniques
  • Provide security thought leadership across the security operational function
  • Dedicated "security as a service" mindset and strong work ethic
  • Team player, pragmatic and flexible

Working knowledge of:

  • Third Party Risks/Threats,
  • Extremist Groups and Cyber Terrorists,
  • Hacktivism,
  • Distributed Denial of Service Attacks,
  • Malware,
  • Mobile or Emerging Threats,
  • Social Engineering,
  • Insider Threats
