Security Engineer

Who are you?

  • You're a seasoned engineer with a focus on security, likely from a software, platform, networking or architectural background. You embrace the DevOps mentality, and for you, something isn't done until it's in version control and automated.
  • You're also well versed in the requirements of working in a highly regulated environment and have exposure to PCI DSS amongst other regulations.
  • You might have, or are interested in, certifications like CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, GCIH, GCIA, etc.
  • You've had exposure to Security Information and Event Management, apps like ObserveIT, and vulnerability scanners like Qualys.

As a Senior Security Engineer your responsibilities will include...

  • Assist in the architectural design and development of web and mobile applications, ensuring security standards are considered and observed
  • Experience with OWASP
  • Assist in the architectural design and where necessary implementation of our system platforms
  • Lead on all security elements of project acceptance into and out of service
  • Define scope of requirements for penetration testing of internal and external systems and applications, and assess the outcome of such testing, making recommendations for remediation
  • Responsible for scheduling and conducting vulnerability scanning, coordinating patch remediation, and re­testing to ensure vulnerability remediation
  • Drive the continued work to automate patching where possible
  • Champion the vulnerability remediation lifecycle
  • Subject matter experts on vulnerability impact and risk, providing guidance on root cause, and managing the full lifecycle of reported vulnerabilities through to closure
  • Create and maintain quality technical documentation
  • Communicate constructively with peers, seniors and stakeholders in all territories
  • Mentor other engineers (including peers) in your areas of specialism
  • Be able to articulate and influence solution decision ­making with technical and non­technical colleagues
  • Demonstrate a wider technical awareness and help design technical solutions
  • Proactively identify and address problems in component quality and tooling
