Role: Security Engineer

Duration: 3 Months initial

Location: London

Key accountabilities

  • Support the Head of Operational Security in discharging his security accountabilities, working across a myriad of information and cyber security related topics.
  • Respond to security events, requests and incidents to ensure that threats, vulnerabilities and breaches are managed to minimise impact to confidentiality, integrity and availability of systems and data.
  • Oversight and assurance reviews of key operational processes and services.
  • Maintaining guidelines, processes and run books for centralised logging and threat hunting.
  • Internal & external vulnerability management.
  • Managing internal vulnerability scanning tools and processes.
  • Provide security impact assessments against Change Requests.


  • 4+ Years operating as an Operational Security Engineer working to identify and eliminate malicious threats to the business environment.
  • Experience in investigative or incident response environments.
  • An understanding of the cybersecurity risks associated with various technologies and ways to manage them.
  • A good working knowledge of various security technologies such as network and application firewalls, host intrusion prevention and anti-virus.

Candidates must:

  • have a passion for working in cyber security.
  • be proactive, enthusiastic and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment.
  • have strong team and interpersonal skills.
  • have strong written and verbal communication skills - this should include excellent written (structured documents, presentations) and verbal communication skills, for example, facilitation of meetings, presentation of materials.
  • Excellent IT skills, including knowledge of computer networks, operating systems, software, hardware and security.


Relevant security qualifications that demonstrate breadth of understanding (e.g. CISSP or CISM or any cloud Security certifications e.g. CSSP).
