Responsibilities:
- Support the teams in understanding and adopting Agile principles, adapting to their level of experience and knowledge
- Facilitate all scrum ceremonies (daily stand up, sprint review, and sprint retrospective, demos/showcases) in a way that ensures full team engagement and work with the team to continually refine and improve
- Guide the squad on how to use scrum and agile practices and methodologies and when they should be used appropriately
- Optimise team allocation and utilisation by guiding the team on how to get the most of out of self-organization, using team metrics (e.g. team velocity, sprint progress/burn down charts) to drive performance
- Shields the team from external interference and ensure the team is fully functional and productive
- Removes blockers that inhibit team productivity (when individuals themselves cannot reasonably resolve them), escalates as required
- Facilitate the team to become self-organising and cross-functional, fosters close cooperation across all team members, encourage cross-training and supporting each other. Continually inspect and adapt the squad's ways of working
- Supports Product Owner on release planning
- Work with other Scrum Masters to improve the application of Agile practices and cross-collaboration for delivery execution
- Coaching: Demonstrated coaching ability, with a strong servant leadership philosophy
- Transformative change delivery: ability to identify business outcomes, manage dependencies and deliver change in complex environments
- Stakeholder management: ability to manage and influence stakeholders with competing priorities
- Business expertise: defined by the project scope
- Software Development Lifecycle: Demonstrated understanding of the software development lifecycle and technical change delivery
- Facilitation: Excellent facilitator, with the ability to communicate and adapt your style based on the situation / context
Required Skills:
- Experienced in the relevant field or equivalent
- Experience with one or more agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, Scrumban, DSDM)
- Practical experience in Agile methodologies
- Demonstrated 2-3+ years' experience or equivalent in the role of a Scrum Master delivering cross-functional change using Agile (i.e. across business and technology)
- Demonstrated coaching experience, with a strong servant leadership philosophy
- Demonstrated experience fostering and empowering high performing teams
