Job Description:

  • 10+ years of strong experience as a monitoring L3 administrator using SolarWinds and also has been involved with tools engineering. Background in SolarWinds Administration, automation, maintenance, upgrade, automation, high availability and disaster recovery activities is a must. The candidate must have extensive knowledge of SolarWinds architecture and deployment across regions.
  • Perform SolarWinds installations and upgrades in line with strategy and vendor recommendations
  • Assist operational team for patching activity
  • POC, testing, setup and configuration of monitoring in accordance with Client strategy and standards.
  • Create and maintain relevant Operating Procedures for tooling in scope and event management
  • Expertise in creating monitoring design packages for new systems/applications to be on boarded as per requirements
  • Work with system/application owners to design appropriate monitoring to hand over to operations
  • Assistance in creation and execution of the strategy around SolarWinds monitoring
  • Support the transition of BAU tasks to the Operations centre and tools teams
  • Continuous assessment of existing monitoring tools and comparison to new tooling available in line with user requirements and functionality gaps
  • Act as Point of Escalation for any critical outages of the SolarWinds Monitoring System, not limited to, resolving availability issues, restorations of failed systems, invoking disaster recovery procedures, during BCP invocation
  • Work with IT and Non-IT groups on tooling adoption, use cases and enhancements
  • Experience in integrating events to ITSM tools specifically Service Now
  • Management and escalation of L3 application issues to vendors in line with client support contracts
  • Experience with deployment of SolarWinds in simple and complex environments, including High-availability, Disaster Recovery plans and supported business continuity planning
  • Ability to create/customise complex monitoring which is not available out of the box with the product.
  • Handle Level 2 support escalations
  • Determine Orion future capacity requirements and optimise its performance
  • Solid understanding of the SolarWinds architecture and functioning of SolarWinds and its components
  • Implement service improvements/enhancements by way of Service Improvement Plans, not limited to automation of routine activities, optimisation of resources

  • Experience in delivering presentations and writing technical documentation.
  • Good understanding of engineering, application development lifecycles, infrastructure and networks.
  • Experience with the IT Industry in Health Care Sector preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in SolarWinds preferred.
  • Experience with other monitoring tools (AppDynamics, Microsoft SCOM and IQSonar)
  • Must have in-depth knowledge and experience in SolarWinds Modules
  • Solid understanding of Enterprise Ops console and Failover engine
  • Good experience in PowerShell, Visual basic, Linux/Unix shell, SQL advanced scripting a must
  • Solid experience in Application, Network, servers, database and user experience monitoring
  • Working expertise and practice with ITIL
  • Solid understanding of protocols used for monitoring example SSH, SNMP, WMI and traps, syslog etc.
  • Experience with monitoring Palo Alto Firewall
