Sales Manager - Oil & Gas - UK

We are currently recruiting for a Sales Manager to join a world leader in Distributed Acoustic Sensing and rapidly growing global company. They are looking for a dynamic and experienced Sales Manager with a proven background of sales growth to join their team in Aberdeen or Farnborough, United Kingdom.

Key Accountabilities

Under the direction of the Director of International Sales - Oilfield Services, the Sales Manager will be responsible for continuing the growth of the upstream services business for select clients and geographical markets.

The Sales Manager is expected to expand uptake of services with existing customers and partners as well as target new prospects for OptaSense's Oilfield Services. The role will have specific emphasis on seismic acquisition and processing services in addition to production monitoring. The Sales Manager is expected to deliver consistent, profitable growth in sales revenue through planning, engagement and execution of the sales strategy.

  • Engages and educates existing and prospective clients on the value of OptaSense's DAS (Distributed Acoustic Sensing) services for their specific applications.
  • Networks, promotes and maintains excellent client relationships at the highest level by consistently communicating and delivering value
  • Develops and prepares professional presentations, proposals and quotations
  • Prepares forecasting reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information including: sales progress, prospect relationship management data, bids won and lost and contact history with major accounts
  • Gathers market information about competitors' rates, competitor and industry utilization, ongoing projects and future proposals
  • Works with other sales team members to develop a coordinated sales strategy for major accounts

Key Capabilities/Knowledge

  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to deliver a successful product demo
  • Solution selling experience
  • Technology sales (sensing, software, solutions) an absolute must
  • High energy, proven team player

Experience & Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary degree preferable in engineering, geosciences or related discipline
  • Minimum of 10+ years' experience in direct selling and account management
  • Ideally prior experience in selling seismic acquisition and processing services to operators, engineering firms and contractors within the upstream Oil and Gas market.
  • Experience in reservoir analysis, well production, well construction and completions a plus
  • Proven track record in sales and a demonstrated ability to close deals
  • Solid understanding of the fibre optic technologies associated with seismic data acquisition and processing is a plus
  • Experience with sales management software (Salesforce) considered an asset
  • Some international travel required
