Description:

The Robotics Developer works collaboratively with the Robotics Scrum Master and Robotics Lead Developer to build and unit test project deliverables.

Typical competencies for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Designing and developing robotic automations to a high standard using market-leading RPA technologies
  • Front-end technologies and skills (e.g. HTML5, CSS3)
  • Using version control systems such as Git
  • Delivering and integrating robotic automations with other technologies

Tasks

The Developer will work within a Development team, and may be involved in development of new

products and maintenance of existing products.

  • Carrying out development in accordance with the agreed requirements and development standards
  • Testing of products in accordance with the test strategy to ensure that they are fit for purpose
  • Assisting the Team Leader in examining packages of work and giving realistic timescales for completion
  • Completion of work allocated within agreed time, cost and quality criteria and providing progress reports on assigned work as required
  • Management and control of problems and change within their area of responsibility as requested by the Team Leader, including negotiation with other teams as necessary
  • Prompt escalation of problems, issues and risks as necessary
  • Playing an active part in Process improvement, awareness of and compliance with all relevant quality processes and procedures, including completion of all the specified quality records

Technical Skills

  • A minimum of 6 months' experience of working as a Robotics developer
  • Familiarity with flow charting techniques
  • A user-centred approach to development
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain issues clearly to non-technical people
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and with a wide range of different people
  • A willingness to take on new challenges and to learn new technologies
  • Ability to reflect logically and critically and to give and receive constructive criticism
  • A passion for detail and appreciation of the craft of your profession
  • Feeling comfortable and confident in a fast-paced work environment
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong attention to detail
