Data Warehouse Release Manager / DevOps

We are looking for a very hands-on release manager, who has Data Warehousing experience, works in an Agile environment and is able to effect change. The person will have the chance to work on innovative projects that change the 'way things are done' in the insurance industry.

* Plan and manage the schedule of releases
* Package code changes submitted by the developers into deployable releases
* Ensure that the development team provide required materials at the required level of quality
* Drive multiple approvals through to push deployments through the organisation-wide change approval process
* Work with system admins (Netezza and QV) in order to have releases deployed
* Extend and enhance the existing suite of automated deployment tools/scripts
* Identify areas for improvement in the end-to-end process and work with stakeholders within and outside the team to implement change

Skills and experience
* Excellent understanding of source code management principles
* Experience with GitHub & PVCS (or similar)
* Good programming skills (Unix shell script, python, PERL etc.)
* Understanding of project lifecycle and change approval processes
* Experience working on data warehouse projects - strong understanding of SQL required
* Experience with test automation and continuous integration/delivery in data warehouse applications would be advantageous
