I am recruiting an experienced Recovery Driver to work for a FTSE 250, global engineering support services organisation. This role functions within their Critical Services Division, which provides vital engineering services to major airports worldwide.

The Recovery Driver will carry out basic vehicle checks, diagnose and rectify faults where possible. This would include working airside, carrying out recovery and slide back duties when tasked, workshop collection and delivery. This position will be Monday to Friday (days), however there is a requirement for night flexibility as and when required by the business.

Key Accountabilities:

  • To assist workshop with vehicle movements.
  • To carry out day and night fleet deliveries and recovery of breakdowns, basic vehicle checks and repairs if possible on site.
  • Ensure vehicle and equipment is kept maintained at all times.
  • Recovery of vehicles to Main Workshops.
  • Rectify basic vehicle issues on site if appropriate, before loading to go back to workshop, to include towing to charger points and battery replacements.
  • To carry out day and night recovery tasks, ensuring vehicles are available for use in the correct locations determined by customer.
  • To attend overnight breakdowns, both airside and landside when required.
  • To produce legible, accurate and correctly coded job cards for all jobs completed, and ensure parts if fitted are booked correctly.
  • To assist workshop with vehicle transfers and fleet checks where required.
  • To liaise with workshop, support centre and customers as required.
  • Ensure mobile support vehicle equipment, parts and stock are maintained to correct levels on a daily basis, and vehicles are clean and inspected before operational use, reporting defects to manager immediately to aid repair/replacement.
  • To carry out other reasonable duties as required.

Ideal Requirements:

  • Must hold a full clean DVLA C1+E Driving Licence.
  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain a valid Airside Pass.
  • LGV or HGV experience.
  • Ability to work under pressurised conditions.
  • Good team building skills.
