Quantity Surveyor

Rosyth based

Contract Opportunity till 01/18

£15 - £20 p/h - open to negotiation

4.5 day working week

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for the day to day running of the commercial aspects in the delivery of a Project ensuring variations are dealt with timely and in accordance with the Conditions of Contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain effective communications with project management, team and other associated disciplines
  • Ensure contract specific change control processes are maintained
  • Ensure the production of monthly actual cost and value reports, forecasts and cash flow information for presentation to management.
  • Preparation, submission and agreement of interim payment applications, in accordance with the provision of contracts.
  • Support the management of Risk ensuring Risk is identified, appropriately measured and mitigated
  • Accurate management of costs for subcontracts including change management
  • Support project reporting cycles
  • Promote commercial awareness within the project team providing guidance and advice where required
  • Monitor contract compliance
  • Measurement and Valuations
  • Ensure professionalism, optimism, energy and drive are displayed
  • Ensure that company policy, rules and regulations are adhered to
  • Strive for improvement and ensure lessons learned are captured and encompassed into future projects across the business
  • Provide commercial input to contracts and tenders.

Experience and skills required:

  • At a minimum, three years' experience on commercial projects preferably using NEC3 and FIDIC
  • Demonstrates commercial awareness

  • Ability to develop and refine commercial and administrative systems
  • Team player

  • Sets high standards in Health & Safety, Quality
  • Proven track record of experience of commercial construction contracts

Degree educated in a related construction commercial discipline
