This global organisation in the engineering services sector are looking to hire a Quantity Surveyor to work within their Marine division.

You will report directly into the Head of Commercial, you will provide commercial management and development activities to enable the business to drive forward its commitments to customers and the wider group organisation.

About your new role

You will be required to provide commercial support, including developing the commercial strategy for specific projects or contracts, by maintaining and maximising profitability and, to provide support to various stakeholders on general commercial matters.

Main responsibilities for this role will include providing commercial support through tendering phase, understanding and negotiating contract terms for projects and mitigating risks these may place on the business.

This organisation are involved in a range of Projects, running a variety of commercial and Ministry of Defence Contracts, therefore in this role, you will interact with clients and suppliers across, both the private, and public sectors.

In order to succeed in this role, you will be required to build strong working relationships internally with Bid Managers, Legal Counsel, Operations and Finance amongst others

About you

  • Ideal candidates will have experience in civil nuclear, engineering and/or manufacturing environments in a commercial management or quantity surveying based role
  • In depth understanding of contract price build ups
  • Experience managing contractual relationships between clients, customers and contractors
  • Relevant further qualification in accounting/law/business management (desirable)
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Degree level education is desirable
