I am recruiting a Quality Assurance Manager to work for a FTSE 100 Engineering Support Services Organisation in Bristol. This role functions within their Marine and Technology Division which provides vital engineering services to key clients, such as the Royal Navy.

The role is to provide oversight and alignment to Quality objectives within Marine Systems Support Partner (MSSP). You will be responsible for the quality management processes of MSSP and management of associated resource.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary interface between MSSP, Supply Chain and Quality.
  • Continued development of the processes and systems; including:
    • Supplier auditing
    • Internal auditing
  • Responsible for the internal approval of purchased items.
  • Routine monitoring of critical suppliers.
  • Setting up quality agreements with the subcontractors/suppliers.
  • Implementation of an effective, metrics based monitoring programme.
  • Leading complaint investigations.
  • To be an active member of the Quality Leadership team
  • Manage the day-to-day activities within the department.
  • Provide guidance/support to the Supplier Quality Engineers and wider team

Required Experience /Qualification /Attributes:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Engineering discipline or relevant subject.
  • Extensive experience of managing quality assurance within engineering high compliance industry.
  • Ability to drive improvement to meet defined targets via implementation of improvement plans.
  • Ability to manage Supplier Quality and Goods Inward Inspection
  • Willingness to work across different sites and areas of the business.
  • Previous experience of quality assurance in the Defence or similar high compliance reliant industry
  • Experience of working within a collaborative environment and understanding contract requirements for Quality
  • Lead auditor status
  • Experience of supplier/subcontractor Quality Management
