I am recruiting a Quality Assurance Engineer to work with a FTSE 250 Engineering Support Services Organisation in Bristol. This role functions within their Marine and Technology Division, which provides vital engineering services to key clients, such as the Royal Navy.

You will be working on a range of exciting design, manufacture and support projects for a number of key clients domestically and internationally. The business continues to win new work and grow at a significant pace, and as a result, they are recruiting for talented, enthusiastic and driven people.

Reporting to the Principal Quality Engineer and supporting the project Senior Quality Assurance Engineer you will:

  • Provide ongoing business quality support for the engineering activities carried out in a design, manufacturing and service environment.
  • To undertake quality product and process duties and inspections to measure the level of compliance against the contract requirements and the Business Management System assuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015.
  • To undertake document review as required through contract requirement.
  • Conduct quality inspections, audits and/or investigations.
  • Assist with lessons learnt using tools for corrective and preventative action and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with the Document Controllers to provide document control assurance and compliance.
  • Facilitate the reviews of project quality plans and ensure these plans are implemented through the life of the project.
  • Vet First Level dossiers and quality documentation pack ensuring all quality aspects are met, raising discrepancy reports as appropriate to rectify deficiencies.
  • Undertake the final inspection of product.
  • Conduct process mapping exercises.

Required Skills and Experience/Qualifications

  • Have a good understanding of production quality and hold a minimum of an ONC, HNC, NVQ Level 3 qualification (in an appropriate subject)
  • Be computer literate with good keyboard skills and understanding of MS Office applications
  • Have a keen eye for detail.
  • Be pro-active and have a structured and systematic approach to work.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, at all levels, enabling effective liaison within production teams and other areas of the business.
  • Require knowledge and experience of Quality Management Systems (IS09001, AQAP, AS9100, etc.)
