Quality Assurance Engineer - HMNB Clyde, Faslane or Coulport

A brand new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join a FTSE 100 Organisation based in Clyde. The role holders will provide specialist advice and guidance on quality matters in an engineering setting in relation to maintenance activities associated with Royal Navy Vessels.

Main Tasks

Specific responsibilities will include monitoring Quality standards, management of quality records and providing competent advice to internal and external stakeholders to support fleet maintenance projects. The role holder will also participate in an audit programme and product safety Investigations including root cause analysis, delivery of quality Improvements projects and supply chain quality assurance activities.


We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer with a demonstrable history of success, coupled with a sound understanding of engineering principles. Key areas of competency we require will include:

  • Previous Quality Engineering experience
  • HNC in a relevant Engineering discipline, or equivalent qualification
  • HNC in Quality, CQI level 3 certificate or equivalent qualification
  • ISO9001 qualified Lead Auditor
  • Excellent communication and networking skills

Experience gained in marine, nuclear or weapons environments would be advantageous but is not essential.


This role is based at HMNB Clyde, located at either Faslane or Coulport, 6 or 9 miles north of Helensburgh in the West of Scotland respectively. We are well placed for commuter links to Glasgow and the wider region, with easy access for car and public transport. Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland, and has many amenities from curling to opera and ballet and from football to art appreciation; it also has a large selection of museums that include those devoted to transport, religion, and modern art.
