Location: Keynsham
Rate: Circa £40.00/hr ltd
Duration: 7 months (initially)

Our clients' Keynsham QSHE team are a supporting function responsible for providing and maintaining an effective assurance capability within Engineering Services (ES) Projects which includes both the Dreadnought and DSPM projects providing technical design/support services for submarines and Digital Solutions providing Information, Analytic, Decision Support and IT services.

This role will positively support this assurance capability within the DSPM submarine project by providing functional advice, guidance and support to the business relating to the effective delivery of a QSHE assurance programme in respect of the organisations business governance management system and customer/regulatory requirements.

  • Minimum HNC/HND (or equivalent) in an engineer / manufacturing discipline.
  • Certificated lead auditor in appropriate discipline.
  • NEEBOSH General Certificate in either H&S or environmental would be an advantage.

Main Purpose of Role

  • To provide support to the ES QSHE Manager.
  • Support and advise the Project on fulfilling QSHE contractual / legislative requirements.
  • Manage QSHE BMS documentation and facilitate process mapping.
  • Undertake technical document review.
  • Liaise with Project to provide advice and guidance on QSHE assurance matters.
  • Undertake auditing and CAPA management.
  • Communicating with Suppliers / Customers on QSHE matters.
  • Use a range of measurement tools and techniques to provide reporting metrics to determine effectiveness of BMS.
  • Participate in improvement initiatives.
  • Liaise with external third party verification bodies.
  • Identifies risk and opportunities within QSHE activities.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competences

  • Experience of Quality Management Systems and auditing against the requirements of ISO 9001 within an engineering / manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to review technical documentation with a good eye for detail.
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience of operating either OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001 H&S or ISO 14001 environmental management system would be an advantage.
  • Able to communicate effectively and have an aptitude for learning new techniques, methods and principles.
  • Self-motivated and can work within a group or individually.
  • Capable of prioritising, multi-tasking and working to agreed schedules.
  • Have a flexible approach to workload.
