Project Manager - Apps

Location: West London (Occasional travel to offices in Italy and Germany)

We are actively looking to secure two Project Managers to join Experis as one of our expert consultants, delivering services to our clients.

Role Outline:

Our client is a large entertainment organisation; they excite and inspire customers with leading innovations and technologies in the entertainment industry. They strive to be the best for customers and the people working for them.

Interested in working with the Europe's leading Entertainment Company? Our client is looking for two Project Managers to join their Product Delivery team, to Support the day to day running of their Apps (Additional support may be required for new Apps coming on the platform).

As part of this role you will:

  • Work directly with the Product Owners to develop our delivery plans and co-ordinate across the relevant teams to ensure we understand the business priorities and critical dependencies across these
  • Plan and lead delivery by the product, development, integration and test teams
  • Track status of key delivery milestones and dependencies, providing clear weekly progress updates.
  • Look ahead to identify risks that may trip up delivery, and take steps to manage these risks
  • Find expedient ways through issues as they arise
  • Engage with Director/Exec-level stakeholders to give transparent updates on progress and seek their assistance when required.
  • Provide quality metrics during all stages of release delivery to ensure that every release improves quality for our customers

Candidate Specification

  • Knowledge of project and financial planning processes / techniques for deliveries £1m+
  • Confident engaging at a senior level (HoDs, Directors, and C-suite)
  • Strong ability to build strong, transparent, trusting professional relationships with stakeholders across multinational teams
  • You have an in-depth understanding of the challenges faced throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Have a demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate across multiple stakeholders
  • You're passionate about motivating and developing a high-performing delivery team
  • Together with your team, you are brilliant at risk and issue management
  • You have a can-do attitude and step-up to take a leadership role in difficult situations where clear lines of authority are not always possible
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous and continually changing environment
  • You know how to work closely with third parties (App Owners)

Specialist Knowledge:

  • Planning software development in waterfall and agile methodologies
  • Issue investigation and root-cause analysis
  • Good judgement on impact of issues on customer experience
  • JIRA
  • Confluence
  • Software development
  • Systems integration methodologies, processes and tools

Preferred Experience

  • 3rd party app technologies, e.g.:
    • HTML5/JavaScript
    • Adaptive streaming (MPEG-DASH, HLS)
    • DRM (PlayReady, Widevine)
    • App lifecycle
    • Content discovery
    • Monitoring
