Project Manager/Engineer

Based in Fareham

6 Month contract

£400pd pay PAYE

My Client is looking for an experienced Project Manager ideally from an Engineering background who will lead and manage cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing engineering, supply chain, operations and quality) to deliver the projects within the established non-recurring cost (NRC), delivery, quality, and other critical success factors.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain all day to day project management activities and progress all outstanding issues
  • Maintain a technical overview of the project
  • Appropriately challenge the IPT on findings, requirements and next steps to ensure work proceeds with the correct rigour and direction
  • Liaise with commercial and programme teams as required on project status and continued direction
  • Assist in defining additional scope as required as the project progresses

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities List:

  • Ability to break a problem down into its constituent parts, identify root cause and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Knowledge of different estimating techniques (including by analogy; parametric and bottom-up) and when these are best applied
  • Ability to lead and motivate small to medium-sized project teams (up to 25 people)
  • Knowledge of agile project management practices, such as Scrum and ideally how these are best implemented in a safety-critical product development environment
  • Financial planning and analysis skills
  • Excellent written communication, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong prioritisation, conflict management and decision making skills
  • Skill in supervising to include delegating responsibility, training and evaluating performance
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise duties with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines
