Project Manager - Mainframe Migration, Sourcing
Location: London (Infrequent travel around South East of England)

We are actively looking to secure an experienced Project Manager to join Experis.

Purpose of Role:

The Project Manager will be responsible for the delivery of our client's mainframe migration and sourcing optimisation.


  • Ensure tasks are completed to time and budget and with developed communication and diplomacy skills - strong ability to persuade and influence client and stakeholder relationships
  • Manage and drive deliverables. Improve ways of working and flow of work (backlog - progress - delivery)
  • Manage governance, stakeholders, and communications
  • Build and maintain roadmap
  • Organise the matrix team with defined roles
  • Weekly steerco with vendors
  • Domain knowledge: Midrange, mainframe experience, and vendor or sourcing

Essential Skills:

  • Domain knowledge: Midrange, Mainframe, Vendor and Sourcing
  • Demonstrable experience and capability to manage projects autonomously. Thorough understanding of concepts, procedures and application of project management
  • Evaluates, complex situations using multiple sources of information
  • Ability to use recognised project management methods and processes, depending on risk profile and governance needs
  • Proven ability to apply relationship management skills and the ability to build client and stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to identify stakeholders and manage relationships, risk and engagement to deliver the project's outcomes successfully
  • Ability to hold operational responsibility for planning, financial and budgetary control, end results and setting decision frameworks within the defined boundaries of a specific project


  • Project Management Accreditation i.e. Prince2, APMP, ITIL qualification, Risk Management Qualification or 6 Sigma.
