We have an exciting opportunity with one of our clients, a world leader in reinsurance. They stand for exceptional solution-based expertise, consistent risk management, financial stability and client proximity. It operates in all lines of insurance, with more than 42,000 employees throughout the world.

Overview:

Our client is implementing a new accounting standard IFRS17 which is fundamental to the way the syndicate operates and therefore requires a Project Manager who's undertaken Finance and Actuarial based projects from implementation to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creation of project cost estimations and definitions in collaboration with stakeholders and team members
  • Managing project risks and issues
  • Liaison with, and management of, suppliers to produce project deliverables
  • Steering and controlling of project costs so that the project can be completed within the approved budget
  • Quality assurance / quality control
  • Documenting and managing project change control
  • Reporting project progress using agreed reporting lines, templates and processes
  • Leading of project team and steering committee meetings
  • Management of escalations within team, with project sponsor and stakeholders

Experience required:

  • Strong project delivery background within financial services and actuarial
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully delivering critical and complex projects within financial services
  • Demonstrable change project management experience
  • Exposure to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) desirable
  • Finance and actuarial process know-how

Desirable

  • Deep understanding of operational impacts from business and IT change
  • An awareness of Agile methodologies
  • Ideally some experience in Parent company and subsidiary relationships

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

  • 2:1 or 1st class university degree in IT
  • Qualifications and experience of one or more industry recognised best practise project management delivery methodologies i.e. PMP, PRINCE 2-certified, Agile methodologies (preferable)
  • CII qualifications
  • ITIL-certified (desirable)
