I am recruit for a FTSE 250 Engineering Support Services Organisation who is an industry leader of integrated solutions within the airport sector. They manage and maintain over 17,000 Ground Support Equipment assets for Airports, ranging from passenger buses to 70-tonne aircraft pushback tractors.

They are recruiting a Project Engineer to be the competent and professional engineering representative with the Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and Airside Operations, working with the customer, the business unit and the supply chain, to resolve technical and engineering issues as and when they arise.

Responsibilities:

  • To provide engineering support to the GSE Business, the customer and the repairers, and to draft technical specifications in support of new vehicle and equipment acquisitions.
  • To make engineering decisions that enable the meeting of budgets and SLA's, to support the business with engineering resource required for new bids
  • To take a "hands on" approach to resolving technical and complex engineering issues as they arise, advise and support specification changes and pricing exercises as and when they occur
  • To manage and ensure business rate cards and provision of assets and technical information are both timely and accurate
  • Work as part of a team and exercise tolerance and consistency when dealing with others.
  • Consistently develop practical procedures and complete tasks through to a conclusion.
  • Be a self- starter in order to achieve tasks and overcome problems as well as provide direction for others.


Required Skills and Experience/Qualifications:

  • Ground Support, Airfield or Plant Equipment experience
  • Qualified Engineer
  • Experienced in the repair and maintenance of Electrical, Hydraulic and mechanical equipment
  • Ability to work on own initiative & demonstrate initiative to solve problems
  • To be eligible for Airside Pass
