The work location is in Paddington, LONDON and is a 1 year contract.

Pay rate is between £450 - £550 per day.

The role is working for a well established, multi-national retailer and specialises in clothing, home and luxury product.

The Programme Manager's role is to support the investment of assets relating to the infrastructure of the UK store estate, using the Property Programme Office governance process. This includes engaging stakeholders to ensure there is clarity on technical and procurement options available, potential timelines, ensuring clarity of the scheme brief and approval through the relevant governance process. Plus, co-ordination and control of activity through the established project stages. The ideal candidate should have a keen eye for detail, analytical and challenging mindset with proven stakeholder management skills as well as experience with technical projects and construction contract methodologies.

Key accountabilities of the role include:

  • Forward planning to achieve Programme KPI's and driving appropriate actions
  • Liaison with Property colleagues and suppliers' parties to drive project activity and best value solutions
  • Identifying options to deliver projects and programmes to the brief with the balance of time, cost and quality, ensuring the wider teams are resourced appropriately
  • Day to day management of Property programme documentation ensuring its accuracy and regular reporting to a range of audiences, tailoring to the audience type and level of information required in an engaging manner.
  • Define requirement, frequency and intention of meetings and chairing these to coordinate the various stakeholders and record all changes and activities
  • Day to day management of risks, issues, actions and appropriate escalations associated with the programme ensuring others are accountable for their contribution.
  • Create and maintain the programme plans, defining the programme' s critical path. Track and report slippage from a baseline position. Working with stakeholders to mitigate slippage risk and escalate when necessary.
  • Ensure the all master documentation is up to date and accurate to set up new projects, prevent clashes or duplication of activities
  • Coordination and engagement of various stakeholders, stores and activities through the Property Governance Process

Key skills and experience

  • Ability to articulate various inputs in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to manage ambiguity in order to allow informed decisions
  • Ability to utilise Microsoft Excel to maximize efficient tracking and reporting
  • Experience of programme management or project management
  • A keen eye for detail and ability to challenge in a constructive way
  • Experience of working with technical information and construction delivery methodologies
  • Proven stakeholder management skills and a collaborative approach
