Job description/Person specification:

  1. To be a team member with the "Production Planning and Sourcing" virtual team.
  2. Assisting in the provision of :-
  • A focal point for customers to assist in bidding, costing and requirements capture.
  • Coordination, effective management and delivery of Production activities.
  • Intelligent make/team/buy decisions.
  • Leading the planning and scheduling of tasks- Demanding services as required to meet delivery requirements.
  • Utilising:-
  1. In-sourcing
  2. Outsourcing
  3. "Blended solutions" or teaming arrangements, using internal and external networks.
  • Management and active monitoring our fabricating subcontractors, on time, quality, and cost, to ensure we have the right partners to meet business needs. (Enabling first level inspections and dip checking deliverables against specifications and drawings)
  • Market Testing of solutions
  • Working closely with Production TL's maintain a detailed understanding of QQ's internal workshop capability, along with external options, assisting in the management of our preferred suppliers.
  • Working as part of workshop production engineering team to build a complete picture to plan short term production activities.
  • Uses scheduling tool to plan efficient and effective use of production facilities.
  • Forms holistic view of projects, people & resource to enable smooth transition from concept development through to completion
  • To facilitate the planning and scheduling of production activities for BCE workshops, collaborating closely with PM's, Production Coordinators, Engineering disciplines and functions.
  • De-conflicting and scheduling workshop and production activities to ensure production deliveries are delivered within time constraints.
  • To assist team in the planning of workshop tasks and procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Help identify Production needs and future business demands; to help tailor access to Production capabilities and tools required to meet them.
  • Help implement and follow a "centres of excellence" approach to the way we do Production. Utilising local customer liaisons to help assess tasks and capture requirements.
  • To make improvements and push up standards, delivering a timely and efficient service within an agreed "service level agreement" with deliverables meeting expectations of time, quality, and cost.

Position Requirements:

  • To lead and facilitate the planning and scheduling of production activities for BCE workshops, collaborating closely with AEC planner, IDT's. PM's, Production Coordinators, Engineering disciplines and functions.
  • De-conflicting and scheduling workshop and production activities for to ensure production deliveries are delivered within time constraints.
  • Key to the decision making process for capacity and scheduling planning for the AEC businesses growth and deliverables.
  • Change management, implementing new ways of working
  • Ability to communicate effectively using a range of techniques, including having challenging conversations.
  • Design and communicating new ways of working.
  • Chairing robust meetings and ensuring effective communication in all directions.
  • Challenging ingrained culture and encouraging change.
  • Maintain a detailed knowledge of QQ internal production capabilities and needs, working with Production Coordinators to understand the development of external options.
  • Ability to understand complex engineering drawings and specifications from a variety of domains.
  • Ability to design, improve and utilise scheduling tools to get the desired outcomes.
  • Ability to manage virtual teams including higher management, IDT's engineering teams and customers. Managing expectations and de-conflicting when required.
  • Awareness of aerospace production methodologies and regulations.
