Service Design Lead (Product Owner)


We are looking to recruit an experienced Product Manager for a Youth Charity who work on a national scale and support 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to transform their lives. Based in the company office in London, you will join the team that delivers the full end-to-end journey for a service which offers young people online support to achieve their goals and as such, you will manage a variety of projects from designing and creating content, digital products, marketing materials and anything required to deliver the service.

Success Criteria for the Product Owner

  • Owns the vision for the service and successfully leads and manages an agile team to deliver against that vision, using data and evidence to continually iterate and improve to the user's experience
  • Effectively prioritises focuses and manages the service design team to deliver against ambitious growth and quality targets for the client
  • Uses strong leadership skills to foster a culture of collaboration across both the service design and service delivery teams ensuring that there is excellent communication to break down any potential siloes.
  • Drives a multi-disciplined team approach where all team members share accountability for achieving overall service design and project goals and are comfortable sharing knowledge and tasks.
  • Successfully delivers a quality service which provides impact for young people to drive them toward successful outcomes
  • Drives forward the fundraising approach and pipeline for the client working with key stakeholders in the main Fundraising team.

Essential Criteria

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and skilled at fostering collaboration across teams.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with a track record of leading and managing teams to deliver.
  • Excellent digital literacy
  • Able to understand the bigger picture and track record of translating that to lead, motivate and coach multidisciplinary teams to deliver on a product vision which meets the needs of users.
  • Experience of problem solving, fostering innovation and driving teams to try new ways of doing things.
  • Experience in service design and driving approaches such as customer journey mapping, persona development.
  • Experience of leading in agile teams and SCRUM.
  • Experience and able to demonstrate resilience in working in a high pressure environment to demanding targets.
