My Client a large global brand is looking for an experienced Product Owner on a initial 6 month contract basis

The Global Product Management organization owns product capabilities and supports B2B & International payments, one of the fastest growing segments of our business. We are seeking a Senior Manager, B2B Product Development, who will play a key role in the strategic planning, development and ongoing management of our digital payment platform - Buyer Initiated Payments (BIP). This is a great opportunity to join a high-visibility, high-priority product team and help sustain and accelerate the growth of BIP(FX) charge volume. The Senior Manager will work pragmatically within real-world constraints to solve business and process challenges within a cross-functional, collaborative work environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Fulfill the Product Owner role as described in the SAFe framework.
  • Facilitate the Inspect & Adapt ceremony at the end of each PI to the wider stakeholder group.
  • Run the Product Owner sync to review business, PI and Sprint objectives across multiple scrum teams within the same capability / product line.
  • Support the Scrum of Scrums to coordinate across capabilities / product lines.
  • Act as stand-in for Scrum Master when necessary.
  • Orchestrate the Agile delivery lifecycle (lead Agile scrum team(s) to innovate and deliver robust capabilities on behalf of various backlog requestors including: Customers, Product Management, Sales/AD, Operations, Risk Management, Marketing, Compliance, and Legal).
  • Support Product Management team in new product construct evaluations.
  • Support and influence the product roadmap efforts, improving clarity of sequencing, sizing and assumptions based on relevant subject matter expertise.
  • Plan and execute User Acceptance Testing to ensure successful releases. Support post implementation validations when required.
  • Provide stakeholder reviews and feature demonstrations.
  • Raise risks, dependencies & scope creep as required. Own and inform Product Management team on the sequencing of items.
  • You must be able to travel to a major hub location (in the UK or NY) at least 3 days a week.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience with commercial and B2B payments is required.
  • Must have 2+ years of practical experience with rapid and iterative software development methodologies and collaboration tools (SAFe Agile 4+, Rally, JIRA).
  • You are assertive, an effective negotiator and know how to establish boundaries. Knowing how and when to no is a critical component of this role.
  • High degree of integrity/confidentiality, comfort with speaking up for what is right as well as reporting/escalating risks and concerns. You do the right thing even when it is unpopular.
  • Demonstrates strong problem solving abilities and attention to detail - ability to engineer solutions and crystallize technical requirements from business needs.
  • Proven ability to influence others without direct authority within a matrixed organization with strong track record of developing effective relationships across cross functional teams.
  • You are relentless in your pursuit of ensuring the products you develop complete the last mile and ultimately get launched.
  • You must be able to demonstrate comfort and proficiency with "white-space" assignments and examples of how you've ideated and then drive innovation.
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and verbal form, to different audiences with varying backgrounds.

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business Management, Engineering, Computer Science or similar technical field required.
