About the role

Here at Cavendish Nuclear we are looking to recruit a Procurement Specialist to work on an exciting new role based of out of our divisional headquarters in Leicester.

Cavendish Nuclear are part of the wider Babcock International Group and we manage a multimillion pound, through-life maintenance, equipment support, and engineering contract - supporting nuclear power plants operated by global energy organisations.

We are looking for a talented and experienced Procurement Professional to lead a small team of transactional buyers and to undertake the following key accountabilities.

  • Close involvement with suppliers & stakeholders to identify and implement the most cost effective and technically efficient supply solutions
  • Managing sourcing and tendering processes
  • Leading negotiations with suppliers to ensure that the most cost effective supply solutions are obtained
  • Post contract management ensuring the terms of a contract are adhered to
  • Leading supplier performance monitoring and development initiatives
  • Monitor and track personal performance against functional targets to continually improve value and performance in procurement activities
  • Lead a high performing team of junior procurement staff

What do I need to do the role?

  • Qualified to degree level or able to display equivalent experience. Corporate membership of CIPS is highly desirable

Experience Requirements

  • Planning and implementing supply arrangements, managing supplier performance and scheduling of deliveries
  • Managing complex contracting and sub contract models
  • Working in a major engineering based industry, with a focus on major projects, such as nuclear, construction, aerospace and electronics, engineering, manufacturing or M&E, oil and gas, plant and equipment, power and process, or transmission and distribution
