In recognition of the key role the procurement function plays in the growth of this organisation, one of the world's leading defence, aerospace, technology and security companies are continuing to grow the function, and as such, are recruiting for a Procurement Specialist

The role will form part of their procurement team, executing effective procurement strategies to support the profitable delivery of key defence projects, and the bidding process for further contracts

This role represents an opportunity to influence organisational growth, through the provision of procurement and supply chain expertise and strategy, from conception through to delivery.

About your new role

The role is accountable for providing a best in class procurement service for input into customer bids, in support of securing new business for the organisation.

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Negotiates favourable terms and ensures a favourable commercial position with the Supply Chain
  • Acquires and maintains understanding of technology trends, market forces, cost trends and supplier technology road maps.
  • Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to organisation policy and discusses defects and delivery problems with suppliers and negotiates refunds.
  • This role will be responsible for executing the cost effective and timely delivery of procurement sourcing projects
  • Responsible for driving the sourcing process, identification of Risk and Opportunities, and for working collaboratively with key stakeholders within the business
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders in order to influence behaviours and ensure appropriate involvement of Procurement in all sourcing activities.
  • Collaborate with the Category Management Team to identify opportunities to utilise extant supplier relationships and frameworks that leverage Group scale.

About you

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within Defence or Engineering environments
  • Proven contract negotiation and stakeholder influencing skills
  • Demonstrable experience of the full sourcing process; from design through to execution
  • MCIPS Qualified desirable, or working towards
